Revised Law Needs More Improvements in 2016
CARRB.org's mission is to work with our lawmakers to further amend California law (BP21625). Your help is needed to help us enact a reasonable $ threshold for items that must be reported. Current law still requires individuals/businesses who purchase secondhand goods for resale to electronically provide local police a description of EVERY item with a serial number & all items of jewelry bought with the name, ID number, and fingerprint of the person they bought it from by the end of the next business day. The goods must then be held for 30 days prior to being resold. The law is to be financed by charging every reseller a $300 registration fee. MANY Secondhand Recyclers may quit the reselling business because of the danger of being fined $1,500 to $25,000 if they do not electronically report correctly.
Police Reports must include a donation description, Legal info. on the donor's Photo ID: Name, License Number, & Fingerprint.
